David Glisson

Mr. Collis David Glisson, age 63, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. Services for Mr. Glisson will be held at11:00 am, Friday, May 29, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Harrell will officiate. The interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery. Kenny Hill, Geoffrey Hill, C. G. Knight, Chris Justice, Jared Inlow, Mike Clinton, Mike Crews, Lee (Lil Chop) Glisson, A. J. Glisson, Gary (Bull) Smith, and Nicholas Glisson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.

Collis David Glisson was born May 24, 1963, in Athens, Georgia, to Collis Glisson and Katherine Bowen Glisson. He was a talented commercial painter. David loved racing. He didn’t care if it was drag racing, boat racing, or motorcycle racing, he loved being there and made many life-long friends that shared the “need for speed”. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt. David was so glad to have Kathy McDaniel in his life for the past eight years. A life that ended too soon, Collis David Glisson will be deeply missed by his large family and many friends.

David Glisson is survived by his brothers, Morris Glisson and Michael Ladon Glisson; sisters, Rosa Glisson and Pamela Glisson; his loving girlfriend, Kathy McDaniel; nephews, Timothy Hancock, Jimmy Hancock, and Collis James McCollum; and nieces, Amanda Glisson and Mia Glisson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
