Cotele Prance

Cotele H. Prance, 84, of Brinson, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Fox and Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Phillip Martin, Don Kell, Bill Harrell, Hilton Aultman, Cliff Hutto, and Winston Brock serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Prance was born December 21, 1928 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Elijah Washington "Bud" Harrell and Esther Glover Harrell. She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and Georgia State College for Women. Mrs. Prance retired after serving 35 years as a teacher and principal at Pine Hill Elementary School, Decatur County School System, and Oaks Academy. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, Alpha Delta Kappa, and the Decatur County Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her daughter, Lenorah Prance Chapman and her husband, Larry, of Colquitt, GA; her grandsons, Corey Chapman and his wife, Robin, of Cumming, GA and Casey Chapman and his wife, Jamie, of Bainbridge, GA; and her great-grandchildren, Coley Chapman, Kell Chapman, Aubrey Chapman, and Austin Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coley C. Prance; and her siblings.
