Coy E. Dodson, 67, of Vada, GA, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018.A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Wayne Scott, 1034 Salem Church Road, Climax, GA 39834.Coy Eugene Dodson was born July 23, 1950 in Bainbridge, GA the son of Edward and Odeline Green Dodson. Coy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and spent his civilian career as a welder and pipefitter.Many describe Mr. Dodson as an exceptional welder who never turned his back on an opportunity to share tricks of the trade with others. Shooting a quick game of pool was a favorite pastime along with watching old western movies. Coy was an expert in the martial art of karate.Survivors include his children, Russell Dodson of Bainbridge, GA and Tina Dodson Baggett of Thomasville, GA; his sister Cynthia Avery of Vada, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Coy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Eddie Dodson.
