Danny Gibbs, 63, of Mexico Beach, FL (formerly of Bainbridge, GA), passed away Monday, October 4, 2010 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, FL. The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Gibbs and Verdie Pope Gibbs. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1965 and received his Masters Degree in Physical Education from Georgia Southwestern College. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart for his service. He was a retired teacher who taught Health and Physical Education at West Bainbridge Middle School. He coached girls basketball, football, and golf for the Decatur County School System. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Gibbs of Mexico Beach, FL;his step-son, Rashon Bahammou;his brother, David Gibbs and his wife Patsy of Bainbridge, GA; and two nephews, Patrick Jeter and his wife Lesli of San Angelo, TX and Spence Gibbs of Bainbridge, GA.
