Mr. Daniel D. "Dan" Smith, 49, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, GA. The graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Leon Van Landingham officiating. Mr. Smith was born August 21, 1957 in Lowndes County, GA, the son of Vernon D. and Carolyn Swilley Smith. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1975 and formerly worked as an electrician with Sanfillipo and Memorial Hospital, and was a policeman for the City of Bainbridge. He was a baptist. Survivors include a son, Jarad D. Smith of Brinson, GA; his parents, Vernon D. and Carolyn S. Smith of Bainbridge, GA; a sister, Debbie Smith of Bainbridge, GA; and a niece, Leslie Ann Newberry of Bainbridge, GA.
