David Watts

Mr. David O’Neal Watts, age 85, of Cairo, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. Funeral services for Mr. Watts will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Chris Allen will officiate the services. David was born on September 20, 1938 in Thomasville, Georgia to parents Otis J. Watts and Laveda Adkins. He wed Jean Allen Watts in 1960, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage prior to her passing in December 2016. Mr. Watts served in the United States Navy from 1956-1959. Upon completion of his service in the Navy, he began his employment at Davis Water and Waste (DAVCO) where he retired as a supervisor in 1991. Following his retirement, David spent his days traveling with Mrs. Jean and perfecting his game on the golf course. David never missed a Syrupmaker football game. Whether home or away, he was there to cheer for the Red and Black. David O’Neal Watts is survived by two sons: Neal Watts (Becky) of Valdosta and Dennis Watts (Connie) of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Allison Smith (Brad) of Houston, Texas and Lee Watts (Amber) of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Olivia Watts, Harper Watts, Finnigan Watts, and Bailey Smith.
