Ms. Deffie Ann Simpson Drexler, age 52, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. DeWitt Phillips and Pastor Tom Borland will officiate. Deffie Simpson was born October 2, 1960 in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Norman and Mildred Scott Simpson. She is a U.S. Army veteran. Ms. Drexler worked as a bookkeeper for the Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Deffie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt. She loved to shop, especially for purses. Her other love was reading. Deffie Drexler is survived by her children, Kristen Drexler of Bainbridge and Daniel Drexler of Ozark, Alabama; mother, Mildred Griffis; sisters, Nora Sirmons and Kathy Pisani; brother, Coy Simpson, all of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Gabriel Drexler, Carleigh Kelly, Michael Battles, Jessica Battles, and Katelynn Battles. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Simpson and brother, Larry Simpson.
