Graveside funeral services for Ms. Delores Tipton Bowen, age 78, of Decatur County, GA will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating. Her Sons will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home. Ms. Bowen was born April 6, 1930 in Decatur County to the now late Thomas Jefferson and Myrtle Emanuel Tipton. She was a homemaker and had worked as a teacher's aid at Jones-Wheat Elementary School. She loved doing genealogy, sewing, and her family. She was of Methodist Faith. Ms. Bowen passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Miller County Hospital. She is survived by two daughters; Marsha Gail Bowen (Husband Scott) Johnson of Colquitt, GA and Sally J. Bowen (Husband Curtis) Yarlott of Ashland, Montana; seven sons; Barry Hall (Wife Beth) Bowen of Montgomery, AL, Edgar Ted (Wife Bridgett) Bowen of Gardner, Montana, David Hillard (Wife Sandy) Bowen of Bainbridge, GA, Samuel Wade Bowen of Bainbridge, GA, Robert Kent (Wife Sherry) Bowen of Rome, GA, Dennis Ray (Wife Frankie) Bowen of Climax, GA and John Stephen Bowen of South Carolina; one sister; Elaine Tipton Duke of Bainbridge, GA; one brother; Benjamin Emanuel Tipton of Alabama; 31 Grandchildren, and several Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Cleveland Tipton, William Ronald Tipton, and Thomas Jefferson Tipton Jr., and one Grandchild, Summer Alanis Yarlott.
