Dena Hooks

Dena Renee Hooks, age 49, of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away very suddenly Saturday, October 11, 2025. Services for Dena will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, October 20, 2025, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Hooks and the Rev. Stacy West will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 3:00 pm.

Dena was born on April 19, 1976, to her parents Ronald and Lee Hooks. She attended school in Bainbridge through her Freshman year and graduated from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, FL. Dena loved anything Disney, especially Tinkerbell, her dog and grand-dogs and finding a good deal. Her children were the constant loves of her life. Dena was famous for her unique laugh and known to find humor in almost any situation. She was employed by the Bay County Board of Education in Lynn Haven.

Dena Hooks is survived by her children, Jacob Wood, Autumn Wood, and Erica Wood (Charlie Gavin); her mother, Lee Roberts (Steve); significant other, Nick Hirsch; brother, Wesley Hooks; grandmothers, Elizabeth Hooks and Jolene Hatcher; and nephew, James Knight. Dena is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Hooks, and her grandfathers, Bobby Hatcher and James Hooks.
