Diane Miles IveyJune 26, 1955 - June 13, 2023 Diane Miles Ivey, age 67, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at First United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Melissa Traver officiating.  A private interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Diane was born June 26, 1955 in Ellaville, Georgia, the daughter of Raymond A. Miles and Nell Butler Miles. She was a 1973 graduate of Bainbridge High School. She graduated from Valdosta State College with an Ed.S. in Education. Diane taught elementary education for 20 years and was a math coach for 7 years with the Decatur County Board of Education. She was a member of the Decatur County Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished artist and bridge player, who loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Richard F. "Dick" Ivey; her children, Amy Ivey Andrews (Jason) of Oxford, MS, Richard F. Ivey, Jr. (Stephanie) of Bainbridge, GA, and Mary Beth Ivey Smith (Steven) of Vestavia Hills, AL; her grandchildren, Mallie Kate Andrews, Avery Andrews, Andrew Smith, Sutton Andrews, Sydnee Coker, Jeffery Ivey, and Henry Ivey; her siblings, Larry Miles (Glenna) and Tammi Godwin (Lee); her loving step mother, Wynema "Sam" Miles Gates and her husband, Tom Gates; and several nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Raymond A. Miles; her mother, Nell Butler Miles; and her sister, Susan Diane Miles. The Ivey family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
