Diane Cowart Nielsen, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Orange Park, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in the chapel at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at jacksonvillememorygardens.com. Diane was born on October 23, 1941 in Atlanta, GA. She was the daughter of J.D. Cowart, Jr. and Carmen Cowart. Diane was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Orange Park for over 43 years. Diane was a loving mother and grandmother that touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Survivors include two daughters, Anita Warming and her husband, George McGregor, and Annalisa Strickland and her husband, Wesley; her sister, Myra Williams and her husband, David; her three grandchildren, Victoria Crawford, Connor Warming, and Ryan Strickland; and many other loving family members and friends. Diane was predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years, Capt. Ole A. Nielsen in 1998.
