Donald Edward Mayfield, 64, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Donald Edward Mayfield was born February 9, 1956 in Wauchula, FL, the son of William Henry Mayfield and Joyce Gantt Mayfield. He lived in Florida until the 80s when he found himself heading north to Southwest Georgia. He loved to tinker, especially with lawn mowers and other small engines. Donald had a heart for people and animals. He found joy in caring for others and spent many days working in home health. He would say caring for grandchildren was not a job but definitely an adventure. Survivors include his son, Brian Jones (Leslie Poole) of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Roger Mayfield (Sylvia) of Deatsville, AL; and his grandchildren, Katelen Jones, Logan Jones and Hunter Jones. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Donahue.
