Dora Goodwin

Mrs. Dora Merkison Goodwin, 91, of Brinson, GA, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Donalsonville Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Calvary Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kenny Johnson and Rev. Curtis Earnest officiating with Chad Braswell, Gary Braswell, Larry Harrell, Mitchell Comerford, Mike McComb, Thomas Goodwin, Carl Holloway, and Tommy Braswell serving as active pallbearers. Interment will follow at Calvary Assembly of God Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, O. D. "Doc" Goodwin, and a grandson, Stacey Goodwin. Survivors include her son, Bobby Goodwin of Brinson, GA; her grandson, Daryl Goodwin of Brinson, GA; three great-grandchildren, Heather Goodwin of Leesburg, GA, Jason Goodwin of Leesburg, GA, and Matthew Goodwin of Fairbanks, AK; and several nieces and nephews.
