Doris Barbree

Doris Rentz Barbree, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Keith Dunlap, Kenneth Dunlap, Mervin Barbree, Jr., Jason Roten, Kevin Futrell, Wayne Poitevint and Spencer Dunlap serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Barbree was born August 24, 1924 in Reno, GA. She was a Sales Representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Truman "J. T." Barbree, a son, L. Mervin Barbree, her mother, Clara Davis Cartledge, and her father, Sam Rentz. Survivors include her son, Tim Barbree and his wife Melinda of Leesburg, GA; her three daughters, Melanie B. Futrell and her husband Scott of Cleveland, GA, Deborah B. Thursby and her husband Bobby of Bainbridge, GA and Rhonda B. Roten of Dawsonville, GA; her brother, John Cartledge of Bainbridge, GA; her three sisters, Dot Ellis of Crawfordville, FL, Lenora Stokely of Woodville, FL and Mary Sue Piper of Bangor, MI; twenty-three grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
