Doris Elrod

Mrs. Doris Rebecca Taylor Elrod, age 84, of Douglas passed away Monday, January 2, 2012, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a short illness. Mrs. Elrod, a native of Greenville, S. C., was a Librarian with the First Baptist Church of Douglas. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Taylor, and the wife of the late Rev. Herbert Marshall "Herb" Elrod. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Arnold, and brother, Leonard Taylor, and sister, Ethel Woodruff. Mrs. Elrod was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 2:30 P. M., at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Shep Johnson officiating. The Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P. M., on Thursday, prior to services. Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
