Mrs. Doris R. Durden Jones, age 90, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Tallahassee, Florida. Services will be held for Mrs. Jones at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2015, at Attapulgus Baptist Church in Attapulgus, Georgia. Pastor Jerry Bishop and Rev. Jack House will officiate. Interment will follow in Attapulgus Baptist Cemetery. Jamie Bateman, Josh Bateman, Amanda Greer, Chip Durden, Tyler Durden, and Ashton Durden will serve as pallbearers. The men of the Attapulgus Baptist Church Choir and the Ladies Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will received friends 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Doris was born September 10, 1925, in Attapulgus, to John William Booth and Bronnie Mae Jones Booth. Mrs. Jones worked as a nurse in Decatur County for many years. She was a lifetime member of Attapulgus Baptist Church. There, she was a very active member, as well as Sunday School teacher. From nursing at the Fidelis Nursing Home, work at her church, raising her family, everything she did, she did well. A wonderful mother and friends, Doris will be sorely missed by those she loved. Doris Durden Jones is survived by her children, Jimmy Durden and wife, Brenda of Havana, Florida, Becky Durden of Port St. Joe, Florida, Marty Durden and wife, Diane of Houston, Texas; step-children, Peggy Henry of Tallahassee, Grace Benton and husband, Larry of Dothan, Alabama, Jerry Jones and wife, Marie of Arlington, Georgia, Allan Jones and wife, Anne of Blakely, Georgia; grandchildren, Jonathan Durden, Jamie Bateman, Josh Bateman, Amanda Greer, Chip Durden, an Tyler Durden; step grandchildren, Mac Mc Duffie, Tonya Woodard, Kevin Jones, Gayla Kramer, Tim Benton, Allison Davis, Angela Welch, Misty Craft, Christie Armstrong, and Kim Rogers; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Durden and Son Jones; step-son, Bobby Jones and his wife, Pat, and step grandchild, Lisa Robbins.
