Doris Pierce

Doris Friend Pierce, 50, of Moultrie, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chris Timmons, Michael Friend, Helmet von Schweimitz, Ron Anderson, Jim Hendricks and Andrew von Schweimitz. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Colquitt Regional Medical Center Oncology, P.O. Box 40, Moultrie, GA 31776. Born August 16, 1963 in Bainbridge, she was the daughter of Elnora Gardner Friend and the late George Elmer Friend. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving, in addition to her mother of Bainbridge, is her husband, Kendrick Pierce, Jr. of Moultrie; one son, William Kendrick "Ken" Pierce III of Moultrie; one daughter, Catherine Marguerite "Maggie" Pierce of Moultrie; one brother, William Friend and wife Vonda of Bainbridge; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Pierce Brinkley of Chattanooga, Tn.; two aunts, Catherine Gardner Catledge and Christine Gardner Timmons and husband John, all of Bainbridge; and other family members. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
