Doris Starling

Mrs. Doris Townsend Starling, age 88, passed away early Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Starling will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Karrell Bush will be officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Starling's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The staff of Memorial Manor I will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at 1:00 Central time (2:00 Eastern) in Union Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Abbeville, Alabama. Doris Townsend Starling was born September 13, 1926 in Abbeville, Alabama. She was raised by her loving parents, Allen L. Skipper and Rosalie Smith Skipper. Doris was married to Jack A. Starling, Sr. After 67 years of marriage, Mr. Starling passed away in 2012. Doris Starling loved to cook. She was crazy about her grandchildren. Mrs. Starling will be sorely missed by the family she loved so much. Mrs. Starling is survived by her children, Jackie Starling and wife, Sylvia of Headland, Alabama, Ronny Starling and wife, Patricia of Climax, Georgia, Mike Starling of Newville, Alabama, and Kay Livingston and husband, Charlie of Cyrene , Georgia; grandchildren, Derek Starling and wife, Michelle of Climax, Matt Starling of Headland, Alabama, Josh Starling and wife, Kari of Tallahassee, Florida, Townsend Livingston of Cyrene and Mayo Livingston of Cyrene; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Sandra Starling.
