Dorothy Drane-Soden

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Soden, 77, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Carl Garnett officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with Randy, Richard, Robert, Robbie, Christopher, and Paul Randall Soden serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Cox - Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Soden was born January 7, 1931 in Moulton, AL to the now late Thomas Howard and Edna Kelley Drane. She married James Soden in January of 1952, and moved to Bainbridge, GA from Dothan, AL in 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bainbridge, GA. She had worked as a Food Service Supervisor for the School System in Greer, SC. She loved kids, birds, and politics, and started the MADD chapter in Dothan, AL. Mrs. Soden passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Jim Soden of Bainbridge, GA, four sons, Scott (Wife Pilar) Anderson of Greenville, SC, Robert (Wife Ruth) Soden of Dothan, AL, Randy (Wife Elisa) Soden of Bainbridge, GA, and Richard (Wife Saundra) Soden of Montgomery, AL, three sisters, Jean (Hayes) Daniels of Blythville, AL, Helen Drane of Pensacola, FL, and Marion (Husband Richard) Williams of Wisconsin, and eleven grandchildren, Joey and Jimmy Anderson, Robbie, Anna, Christopher, Catherine, Elisabeth, Paul, Randall, Alexander, Candace, and Mike Soden. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Buddy and John Drane.
