Dorothy Mcnair

Dorothy Lee McNair, age 81, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. McNair were held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., graveside, in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Marty Brock officiated. Dorothy Mae Lee was born December 12, 1941, in Cairo, Georgia to William Berry Lee and Willie Frances Harvell Lee. She was the second of eight children. Dorothy married Robert Pope McNair. Robert passed away in 2019 after 52 years of marriage. Dorothy was a talented seamstress, working many years at Ithaca Manufacturing. Dorothy loved nature. She enjoyed birds, flowers, fishing with her husband, and going to the mountains with her sister. She and Faye had a great time going to see the butterfly exhibit at Callaway Gardens and shopping together. Family was Dorothy’s heart. She was proud and protective of her siblings and children. Mrs. McNair made wonderful cakes that she shared with her family, friends, and church family. The plate always came home empty! Dorothy will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. Mrs. McNair is survived by her children, Anita Bynum (Chris) of Bainbridge, Georgia and Greg McNair (Roxanne) of Climax, Georgia; siblings, Faye Kelley, Phillip Lee (Barbara), Roger Lee (Gail) all of Cairo, Georgia and Ronnie Lee of Commerce, Georgia; sister-in-law, Rhonda Lee of Cairo; grandchildren, Jessica Smith and Jazmine Cook, Dax, Lola, and Gunnar McNair. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Frances Lee Sadler, Roy Lee, and Alvin Lee.
