Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Louise Hurley Morrison, age 58 of Vada, GA, will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Benny Cumbie and Rev. Gene Howard officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Christopher Newsome, Shad Glover, Craig Foister, Michael Affendakes,Steve Cook, serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Dorothy was born in Decatur County September 12, 1949 the daughter of Jessie Alton and Martha Jane Combast Hurley. She was a member of New Home Freewill Baptist Church and was a support specialist with the Decatur -Seminole Day Treatment Center. She has lived in Decatur County most all of her life. She was a loving person. Mrs. Morrison passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at her residence with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband John O. Morrison, Jr. of Vada; two sons Roger Morrison of Vada and Steven (wife Kimberly) Morrison of Bainbridge; a daughter Cindy (husband Ron) Harrell of Vada; one grandson Dylan Harrell of Vada; six sisters Inez Howard of Campobella, SC, Maggie (husband Roy) Brinson of Colquitt, Agnes Irwin-Miserak of Vada, Jewel (husband Bill) Woodberry of Waynesville, NC, Irene (husband Jerry) Walker of Boothville, LA and Ruby (husband Mike) Harasymtzuk of Palm Harbor, FL; three brothers Leroy (wife Shirley) Hurley of Climax, GA, James Alton "Skeet" Hurley and J.E.(wife Robin) Hurley both of Palm Harbor, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents.
