Dorothy ("Dot") Myers Woods, 85, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at her residence at Saint Anne's Terrace. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen L. Webb and Rev. Andrew C. Pearson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. She was Valedictorian of Pleasant View High School, Class of 1941, in Pleasant View, VA, a homemaker, and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. Ashby Woods, Jr., a brother, Hal Wilson Myers, Jr. and three sisters, Elizabeth Myers Coffey, Ann Ware Myers and Spot Myers Massie. Survivors include three daughters, Belle Woods Saddler and her husband Latham G. Saddler, Jr. of Jasper, AL, Elizabeth Woods LeBel and her husband Richard P. LeBel, Jr. of Blythewood, SC and Ellen Woods Demperio and her husband Michael F. Demperio of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Lauren S. Pearson and her husband Andrew C. Pearson, Jr. of Beaufort, SC, Latham Saddler III of Washington, D.C., Ashby Saddler of Jasper, AL, Paige LeBel of Athens, GA, Emily LeBel of Blythewood, SC, Lesley Demperio of Atlanta, GA and Michael Demperio of Atlanta, GA; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Pearson of Beaufort, SC.
