Douglas Cale

Mr. Douglas Arthur Cale, age 78 of Cairo, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 15, 2:00 p.m., at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Father Godfred Boachie-Yiadom will officiate. Mr. Cale will be interred with his family in Canada. Douglas Arthur Cale was born December 11, 1942 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. His parents, Arthur Edward Cale and Patricia Jameson Cale, have preceded him in death. Doug married June Beatrice McNeill. They enjoyed life together for 55 years. Doug ran Cale Industries. His company installed security for banking institutions. For many years when you saw Doug you met his pet bobcat, Ricky. Ricky lived in their home and went everywhere with Doug. Doug loved the outdoors but did not like to shovel snow. He had a collection of guns and loved to shoot targets. A huge NASCAR fan, he loved cars. As a teenager he had a Packard and that is still his favorite brand of car. Doug enjoyed watching The Five and Greg Grunfeld on television. Doug Cale will be deeply missed. Doug is survived by his wife of 55 years, June B. Cale of Cairo; sister, Carolee Sturgeon of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada; and nephew, Sgt. William Sturgeon of Texas.
