Funeral Service for Mr. Durell Wesley Hutchins Jr., 67, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Southwest Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Nalls and Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with Brian Parker, Mitch Parker, Tyler Hutchins, Austin Ellis, Brent Hamm, and Brad Hamm serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Southwest Baptist Church. Mr. Hutchins was born October 28, 1942 in Miller County, GA to the now late Durell W. Sr. and Luevonia Lewis Hutchins. He moved to Decatur County when he was nine years old and had resided here since. Mr. Hutchins was a member of Southwest Baptist Church and made it his number one priority to attend church regularly. He was a manager at Thomas and Betts until his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, working, his family, and helping others. Mr. Hutchins passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his residence in Bainbridge, GA. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Melanie Faircloth Hutchins, two sons, Gordon (wife Kaye) Hutchins of Climax, GA and Stacy (wife Sherry) Hutchins of Cairo, GA; one daughter, Deanna Ellis of Bainbridge, GA; one sister, Brenda (husband Tony) Hamm of Bainbridge, GA; and seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Austin, Tyler, Madison, Wesley, Shelby, and Sydney. Mr. Hutchins was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Ann Parker. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lindsey Ellis and Betty Conoly for taking very special care of Mr. Hutchins during his sickness and also to Flint River Hospice for the care they provided.
