Earnest Turnage

Earnest Terry Turnage, 64, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, following a lengthy battle with cancer. The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Massey officiating.  Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Ernie was born October 22, 1956 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Curtiss and Susie Calhoun Turnage.  He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy and retired with 12 years of service as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Marines.  He enjoyed volunteering for many years with the V. F. W. in Tallahassee. Survivors include his brother, Larry Turnage (Ann) of Dothan, AL; his sisters, Jean T. Billingsly (Richard) of Tallahassee, FL and Florence T. Brown (Randy) of Whigham, GA; and several nieces and nephews.  Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Tommy Turnage.
