Edward Deal, 68, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Calvary Assembly of God Church with Rev. Shirley Hatcher, Rev. Malcolm Parker, and Rev. Dwight Deal officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. EST at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, AL with Charles Elmore, Wayne Cannon, Mickey Godwin, Marvin Amersion, Wade Parker, Tim Watts, Trey Faircloth, Jeff Henderson, Don Swanson, and Boyd Pierce serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Deal was born November 23, 1944 in Dothan, AL, the son of Willie Schoffner Deal and Johnnie Mae Doswell Deal. He retired as an industrial mechanic with Amoco Fabric and Fiber. He was a charter member of Harvest Assembly of God and volunteered with the Lighthouse Children's Home, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Royal Rangers. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Verdell M. Deal of Bainbridge, GA; his children, Dwight Deal and his wife, Vicki, of Dothan, AL, Darren Deal and his wife, Tammy, of Bainbridge, GA, and Dennis Deal and his wife, Amy, of Baconton, GA; his siblings, Billy Deal of Malvern, AL, Jack Deal of Cowarts, AL, Sarah Womack of Cottonwood, AL, Johnny Deal of Wicksburg, AL, Martha Mullis of Kingsland, GA, Betty Carpenter of Daleville, AL, Jessie Deal of Pinkard, AL David Deal of Enterprise, AL, Tony Deal of Clayhatchee, AL, Donald Deal of Florence, AL; his 4 grandchildren,; his 4 great-grandchildren; and a special family friend Boyd Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Mary Goodson and Randall Deal.
