Edwin Gilstrap

Mr. Edwin Gilstrap, age 67, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 22, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at Open Arms Ministries, 300 Colquitt Highway, Bainbridge, Georgia, with Mr. Kevin Dowdy officiating. Edwin Gilstrap was born October 27, 1956 in Bainbridge to Collin Gilstrap and Cathleen Robinson Gilstrap. He married Roxanne Williams Gilstrap who preceded him in death in 2017. Edwin was a talented carpenter. He was a gifted artist with a piece of wood, drawing, or wood burning. An avid outdoorsman, he was often seen on Spring Creek, Lake Seminole, or the riverbank. Camping, deer hunting, looking for arrowheads, he loved being outdoors. Edwin attended Open Arms Ministries. He dearly loved his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Edwin Gilstrap is survived by his children, Edwin Jess Gilstrap of Greensboro, Florida, Jacob Gilstrap (Rainey) of Bainbridge, and Damon Gilstrap (Casey) of Quincy, Florida; his brother, Bobby Gilstrap of Jasper, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Sophia Gilstrap, Xander Gilstrap, Alex Gilstrap, Olan Gilstrap, Haylee Hernandez, Piper Cook, and Karson Cook.
