Edwin D. Teems

Edwin Dale Teems, Sr., 61, of Cairo, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 8, 2025. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Eddie grew into a man known for his steady hands, generous spirit, and deep devotion to the people he loved. Eddie spent most of his life working as a mechanic—one of his many passions. Whether he was tinkering in his shop, building something new, or helping someone get back on the road, he did it with patience, skill, and a genuine love for the craft. His shop was more than a workspace; it was where he felt most at home.

He is survived by his wife, Nina; his sons Dale (Brittney) and Anthony; his daughter Sabrina (Austin); and his bonus children Heather Stokes (Blake), Abigail Davis, Nadia Lenoir, Ladarius Robinson,and Lindsey McManus. He was a proud grandfather to Mya, Daisy, and Inara, and he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and true friends who cherished him dearly. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. Though he endured great loss throughout his life, he never stopped loving deeply. He found joy in having a full house—kids running around, family gathered close, and laughter filling the walls.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date, where all who loved him will come together to share memories and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
