Elizabeth Brewer

Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Brewer, 100, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Interment will be at Hartford City Cemetery in Hartford, AL. Mrs. Brewer was born June 19, 1909 in Newville, AL, the daughter of Sam Davis and Fannie Holland Davis. Raised in Hartford, AL, she was a graduate of Auburn University and taught elementary school in Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina, where she met and married Charles E. Brewer, Jr. of Charlotte. They moved to Bainbridge, GA in 1977 and were members of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Brewer, Jr., and six sisters, her twin, Louise who died at age 2, Minnie Pearl Thomley, Metha Davis, Myrtis Davis, Jonnie Friedrich, and Mattie Gauntt. Survivors include her stepdaughters, Mary B. Jones of San Antonio, TX and Virginia B. Wohlford of Altanta, GA; her step-grandchildren, Michael S. Jones of Lumberton, NJ, Charles B. Jones of Brentwood, MD, Sara Elizabeth Gill of Colorado Springs, CO, and Aline McKenzie of Dallas, TX; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; her niece, Patricia Gauntt Brossett of Bainbridge, GA; her nephew, William R. Friedrich of Black Mountain, NC; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
