Mrs. Ella McDaniel Daniell-Davidson, age 95, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Services for Mrs. Daniell-Davidson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia. The Rev. Paul Medley will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Akridge Cemetery, Sale City, Georgia. Dr. David Benton, officiating. Ella McDaniel was born March 29, 1917 in Sale City, Georgia, to Robert Paul McDaniel and Claudia Akridge McDaniel. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. Ella married Harper Carson Daniell. She was a flight instructor, teaching jet pilots how to read and use their instruments, for Southern Airways. Later, she helped organize the Southern Airways reunions. She later worked as a pharmacy technician for Bainbridge State Hospital. Mrs. Daniell-Davidson is a member of First Baptist Church of Bainbridge, joining March 25, 1951. After the loss of her husband, she married Richard (Dick) Davidson. Ella was a member of the Pilot Club of Bainbridge, Daughters of the American Revolution, local Garden Club, and Saints Alive Choir. She was a wonderful cook. Ella was disciplined and smart. She was an organized, tough lady that loved to sew and knit. Even at her advanced age, last Christmas, she had sewn gifts for her family. Ella Daniell-Davidson is survived by her son, Harper Carson Daniell, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Barbara Blackburn of Sale City, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews, including Peggy Daniell and Sue D. Van Meter, Andy McDaniel and Robert McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harper Carson Daniell, Sr. and Richard (Dick) Davidson; daughters, Elleanor Miller and Genie Porter; and granddaughter, Ashley. The family would like to say a special thank you to the deacons of First Baptist Church for the care and love they have shown to Ella.
