Mr. Elmer L. "Boots" Boyett, 84, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Attapulgus Baptist Church Cemetery with Evan Shockley, Robert McCullough, Zeb DeGraw, Larry Ulmer, Billy Brown, and James Earl Spooner serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Spooner, Michael McPhaul, Grady Miller, and Donald Boyett. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Army Veteran of World War II and a retired Linemen with Talquin Electric Company, and a baptist. Survivors include his beloved friend, Margie Gunn of Attapulgus, GA; his son, Steve Boyett and wife Renee of Attapulgus, GA; two daughters, Porchia Boyett of Attapulgus, GA, and Patricia McPhaul and husband Michael of Chattahoochee, FL; two brothers, George H. "Tink" Boyett of Tallahassee, FL, and Donald Elliott of Attapulgus, GA; two sisters, Frances LaNell Myrick of Tallahassee, FL and Dorothy Gleaton of Havana, FL; six grandchildren, Amy DeGraw, Joshua Boyett, Jason Mock, Adam Boyett, Scotty Boyett, and Annie Roberts; and six great-grandchildren.
