Elsie Schiffner

Elsie Whipple Schiffner, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at her residence. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Schiffner was born July 9, 1924 in Cooperstown, NY, the daughter of James F. Whipple and Madeline Schoemer Whipple. She received her masters degree and became a college English teacher. Mrs. Schiffner loved reading and most of all writing. This lead her to publish two books. She was a very caring person who was always the first to volunteer to care for sick family members. Mrs. Schiffner was of the Episcopal Faith. Survivors include her son, James Schiffner and his wife, Rhonda, of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Janice Whipple, Phd, of Queensbury, NY; her grandson, Joseph Newsome and his wife, Kristy, of Bainbridge, GA; her great-grandchild, Kelan Newsome; and her special cousin, Mary Beth Miller.
