Ernest Elliott

Ernest T. Elliott, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Bainbridge Church of God with Rev. Daniel Tomberlin and Rev. David Blalock officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Elliott was born April 26, 1924 in Dublin, GA, the son of James E. Elliott and Allie Elizabeth Barron Elliott. He was a graduate of Macon High School and Lee University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and prior to his retirement, Mr. Elliot was the owner of Elliott Insurance Agency. He was a member of Bainbridge Church of God where he taught Sunday School for many years, was actively involved in the Lions Club for eleven years, and was a Mason with Orion Masonic Lodge No. 8 F.&A.M. Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Joy Herndon Elliott. Survivors include his wife, Yeoma W. Elliott of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Jane Elliott Conger and her husband James W. Conger, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA; his granddaughter, Ava Conger of Bainbridge, GA; and his brother, Ralph Elliott of Orlando, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
