Mrs. Essie Buie Walters, 98, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Leroy C. Spinks, Rev. Paul Medley, and Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 267 and the Lydia Sunday School Class. Mrs. Walters was born September 19, 1911 in Webb, AL, the daughter of Hendrix Darby Buie and Alice Lassiter Buie. She was a florist and retired owner of Flower and Gift Shop for 25 years. She was a member of Phelathia Sunday School Class, Past Worthy Matron of Order of th Eastern Star 267, American Legion Auxiliary and V. F. W. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband J. B. Walters. Survivors include three nephews, Ray Buie of Dothan, AL, Wayne Buie of Dublin, GA and Johnny Buie of Bainbridge, GA and two nieces, Juanita Cook of Pensacola, FL and Faye Griffin of Bainbridge, GA.
