Ethel Ellrod

Funeral services for Ms. Ethel Ann Gunn Ellrod, 58, of Marianna, FL will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Bainbridge with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Nazarene Cemetery in Eldorendo, GA with Lex D. Parish, Terry Jennings, Steven Grubbs, Donny Bolding Jr., Nicholas Wright, and Ryan Grubbs serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James, Dylan, Dallas and Christopher Grubbs. Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Ellrod was born in Early County, GA to the now late Willie Wilson and Susie Mae Carden Gunn. She was a CNA in Blountstown, FL for six years. She moved from Decatur County to Statesboro, GA 28 years ago and then to Marianna, FL 18 years ago. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Guyton, GA and loved sewing, drawing, and writing. Ms. Ellrod passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. She is survived by her long time companion; David Alfonso of Marianna, FL; three daughters; Michelle (James) Jones of Raleigh, NC, Donna (Michael) Wright of Brooklet, GA, and Ronna Lynn Grubbs of Brooklet, GA; two sons; Donald (Kelly) Grubbs Jr. of Bainbridge, GA and Thomas Willian (Shannan) Grubbs of Geneva, AL; two step children; Candy Alfonso of Jacksonville, FL and Jason Alfonso of Tallahassee, FL; two sisters; Francine (Robert) Black of Bainbridge, GA and Mildred (Danny) of Atlanta, GA; two brothers; Gene (Lorrine) Gunn and Vernon Gunn both of Statesboro, GA; one uncle; Buddy Carden of Thomasville, GA; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild Jessica Nicole Grubbs.
