Eva Ann Belcher, age 93, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia surrounded by her loving family. Services for Mrs. Belcher will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the graveside in Oak City Cemetery. The Rev. Kyle Killough will officiate. The family will receive friends in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, 5:30 – 6:30 pm,Tuesday evening.
Eva Ann Ellison was born March 9, 1933, in Tallahassee, Florida, to Ovid Ernest Ellison and Alice M. Petty Ellison. Ann graduated from Leon High School. She met the love of her life, Donald Abner Belcher, Sr., on a blind date. Don passed away January 2, 2026, after 71 years of marriage. Don and Ann began their family in 1956 with the birth of Donny, Jr. and continued with Woody (1958), Alyce (1960), Jim (1961), Georgia (1964), and Barbara (1966). Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She kept the house, made certain the meals were cooked and took wonderful care of her children and husband. She had a keen mind and humble spirit. Ann was the definition of a “Proverbs 31 women”. She was industrious and skilled, compassionate, wise and honorable, family oriented, of good character, and deeply devoted to the Word of God. Ann was an expert on the genealogy of her family and enjoyed researching and sharing those facts. She raised her children and then started enjoying her grandchildren. Don and the family called her their “Darlin”, and she will forever be in their hearts. Ann would always leave her family with the message to, “Be A blessing.” The motto she lived every day.
Ann Belcher was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Ernest Ellison and Sara Dunaway. She is survived by her children: Donnie Belcher, Jr. (Sheron), Woody Belcher (Missy), Alyce McCarty (Gary), Jim Belcher (Susan), Georgia Long (Donny), and Barbara Hinson (Lofley). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
