Evelyn Glasier

Evelyn McCurdy Glasier, age 80, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, surrounded by her family, in Whigham, Georgia.   Services for Mrs. Glasier will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept.16, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.  Interment will be held in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00.  Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to wear protective masks and social distance in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Evelyn was born September 2, 1941, in Pensacola, Florida.  Her parents, Jessie Elizah McCurdy and Ethel Louise Faircloth McCurdy, have preceded her in death.  She married Robert Glasier.  Robert passed away August 2019.  Evelyn was strong in her faith.  She was concerned about the salvation of her family.  Evelyn loved people and never met a stranger.  She loved to play canasta and enjoyed going to the casino. Maybe that was because she always won!  Evelyn loved to dance.  No one could outdo her in the jitterbug.  Evelyn’s heart was her family.  She cared deeply for each member.  Always ready to show love, she had a huge extended “family” that she considered and accepted as her own.  Evelyn Glasier is survived by her children, Sheila Herendeen of Whigham, Georgia, Denise Michelle Glasier Edwards (Jeffery) of Dallas, Texas, and Ramona Lynn Glasier Robinson (James “Andy”) of Yuma, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert F. Glasier, Jr., and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Kathleen Marshall.  Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Glasier to The Wounded Warriors Project at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org , an organization she was fond of and gladly supported.
