Evelyn "Peggy" Nix, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Bainbridge Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery with Zane Allen, Blake Kelley, Jason Williams, Zack Griffin , Tyler Allen, Willis Hollingsworth and Art Kozik serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Nix was born November 22, 1928 in Eldorendo, GA, the daughter of Judson B. Elkins and Myrtice Lane Elkins. She was a member of Covenant Christian Church and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her universe. Survivors include her children, Jackie Griffin of Bainbridge, GA, Charles Nix and his wife, Joanne, of Many, LA and Kathy Evans and her husband, Ronald, of Ormond Beach, FL; her brother, Jimmy Elkins of Blountstown, FL; her sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Elkins of Hosford, FL, Janette Elkins of Bainbridge, GA and Cathy Elkins of Florida; her grandchildren, Pam Kelley and her husband, Brad, Kim Allen and her husband Zane, Amy Kozik and her husband, Art, Ashlee Nix, Jason Williams and Jennifer Williams; her great-grandchildren, Blake, Brooke, Tyler, Seth, Riley, Hannah, Josh, Zach, Olivia and Paisley; and her great great-granchild, Charlie. She was preceded in death by her husband Enoch Nix and her son Judson Nix as well as several siblings.
