Evelyn J. Smith, 80, of Eldorendo, GA, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ann Callahan officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be held at Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Smith was born November 5, 1930 in Donalsonville, GA the daughter of David Sim Josey and Edna Howard Josey. She was an inspector with ITT Thompson with over fifteen years of service. Mrs. Smith was a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church and a former member of the V. F. W Post 4904 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her two sons, David Smith and his wife, Fran, of Mobile, AL and James Smith of Bainbridge, GA; her three grandchildren, Chris Smith of Lexington, KY, Edna Steele and her husband, Jason, of Daphne, AL, and Robert Smith of Eldorendo, GA; her two great-grandchildren, Owen and Riley Steele of Daphne, AL; her sister, Ila Reed of Brinson, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Buster" Smith; and her three brothers.
