Mr. Floyd R. Lewis, age 65, of Cairo, Georgia, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Lewis at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Forestacres Full Gospel Church in Thomasville. Pastor Darrell Owens will be officiating. The family will received friends one hour before the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Floyd Rudolph Lewis was born March 12, 1948, in Grady County, to Bill Lewis and Leitha Mae Phillips Lewis. Floyd was a talented singer and guitar player. He loved to performed and listen to Southern gospel music. He was a licensed minister of the Gospel and ordained deacon. Floyd loved the Lord and proudly proclaimed the Word by preaching. He loved to fish and loved his black coffee. Floyd had the gift to always lifting people with his words. He truly cared for people and will be sorely missed by the family he loved so much. Floyd Lewis is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Myrlene T. Lewis of Cairo; son, Gary Lee Lewis of Cairo; grandchildren, Kendall Maxwell of Thomasville, Chelsea Pollock and husband, Trey of Cairo, and Logan Lewis of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Maxwell and Garrett Maxwell, both of Cairo, Christopher Pollock and Chloe Maxwell, both of Cairo; brother, Judson Lewis and wife, Dorothy of Coolidge, Georgia; and sisters, Louise Cassidy of Whitman, Arizona, Diane White and husband, Bill of Pelham, Georgia, and Linda Lewis of Albany, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Lewis, and daughter-in-law, Teresa Lewis.
