Mr. Forrest Stinnes Jordan, Sr. passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Paul Medley will be officiating. Dr, Jim Wade,Hal Wilson, Mike Wilson, Andy Cadwell, Bill Wilson, and Cornell Hamilton will serve as pallbearers. The Tommy Wheeler Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Georgia. Pastor Brian Gunningham will officiate at the graveside. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00. Forrest Stinnes Jordan was born November 1, 1924 to Mack Wayne Jordan and Effie Ammons Jordan, in Waycross, Georgia. He was married to Wilda Pearl Wade Jordan; who preceded him in death in 1991. They were married for 46 years. Mr. Jordan owned and operated Jordan's Carpets for many, many years. Forrest was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bainbridge and the Tommy Wheeler Sunday School Class. He loved quality work, history, and mostly, his family. Forrest Jordan is survived by his children, Forrest Stinnes Jordan, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Mauldin, South Carolina and Jena J. Rossman and husband, Tommy of Rochelle, Georgia; sister, Peggy Wilson of Waycross, Georgia; grandchildren, William Rossman of Peach Tree City, Georgia, David Rossman and wife, Tabitha of Edmonton, Canada, and Michael Gamble and wife, Cassandra of Holland, Michigan; and one great grandchild, Lily Gamble. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of your choosing.
