Mr. Foy Hobbs, 86, passed away Sunday, September 02, 2012, at his home in Climax, Georgia. Services for Mr. Hobbs will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Climax Baptist Church. Rev. Chad Cooper and Rev. Steve Poppell will officiate. Interment will be held in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Bob Hobbs, Ricky Houston, Michael Shelley, Phillip Dodson, Bubba Hester, and Charles Hobbs will serve as pallbearers. The Josh Sunday School Class of Climax Baptist Church, including Ann Ariel, Rita Dodson, and Dianne Gibson will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 3, at Climax Baptist Church. Foy Hobbs was born November 20, 1925, in Blakely, Georgia, to Robert Cecil and Selma Mae Brown Hobbs. He was the youngest of 9 children. Foy served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Doris Curry on September 1, 1951. There is so much that could be said about Foy Hobbs. He was a licensed private pilot, a successful businessman, great fisherman, an expert snowmobiler. Mr. Hobbs loved to travel. He was a charter member of the Swine Time Organization and the Climax Golden Agers. Foy was a 32nd degree Mason. He has been a member of Climax Baptist Church since 1972 and was a member of the Josh Sunday School Class. Foy Hobbs is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Curry Hobbs of Climax, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
