Frances Alvarez

Frances L. "Tootsie" Bynum Alvarez, 67, of Sylvania, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Gerald Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, AL at 2:00 p.m. CST. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Alvarez was born October 26, 1946 in Alabama, the daughter of Alvin Bynum and Lossie Mae Ready Bynum. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of the children of her large extended family. Drinking Coffee, Quilting, "junking", fishing, playing card games, and cooking were her favorite pastimes. Above all else, she loved her family. Survivors include her sons, Scott H. Alvarez and his wife, Brenda, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Nelson A. Alvarez and his wife, Jill, of Sylvania, GA, and Tico H. B. Alvarez of Stuart, FL; her sister, Janice Hayes of Donalsonville, GA; and her grandchildren, Jarrid, Richard, Katelyn, Walter, Diana, Jamie, and Maranda. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Eleanor Head, Mattie Ament, and James Bynum.
