Frances Battle

Frances O'Donnell Battle, R.N., 93, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL. A private graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Oak City Cemetery. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Frances was born August 9, 1917 in Princess Anne, MD, the daughter of Emory Cashier Smith and Miriam Agnes Pruitt Smith. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a Registered Nurse. Survivors include her sons, William James O'Donnell, Ph.D. of North Topsail Beach, NC and Robert Lee O'Donnell, J.D. of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren, William James O'Donnell, Jr., Robert Lee O'Donnell, Jr., Ryan William O'Donnell, and Scott Thomas O'Donnell; her great-grandchildren, Miah Elizabeth O'Donnell, Robert Lee O'Donnell, III, Carter David O'Donnell, and Jackson Clayton O'Donnell. Mrs. Battle was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Francis O'Donnell, M.D. and Eliot Battle; and her brother, Calvin Smith.
