Frances Cannon Hall Gaither March 24, 1931 - February 16, 2011 Frances Cannon Hall Gaither, 79, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Douglas Chason officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with James Willis Cannon, Eldridge Cannon, Mark Faircloth, Harry Gaither, Randy Chason, Jason Crawford, and Darius Cannon serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Memorials may be made to the Archbold Foundation, North Tower Fund, 910 South Broad Street, Thomasville, GA 31792. Mrs. Gaither was born March 24, 1931 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of James Madison Cannon and Mary Darley Cannon. She was an executive secretary for Southern Airways, Williamson-Dickie Co. and Thompson Industries, and owned the Bernina Sewing Center and This Old House in Bainbridge for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Jack Gaither of Donalsonville, GA; her sons, Ed Hall, M.D. and his wife Sandra of Thomasville, GA, Jimmy Hall of Donalsonville, GA, and Harry Gaither of Donalsonville, GA; her six grandchildren, Chris Hall, Laura Hall, D.V.M., Ali Hall, Brantley Hall, Blake Hall,and Shelby Bird; and her great-grandson, Cason Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harland J."Van" VanBortel; her brothers, A. B. Cannon, Bill Cannon, and James A. Cannon; and her sister, Iona Jo Johnson.
