Mrs. Frances Hanna Melton, age 90, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Melton will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, 4:00 p.m., at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Rev. Ron Kirkland will officiate. Frances Hanna was born July 2, 1922 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Ralph Gordon Hanna and Lucile Wilson Hanna. Frances married Charlie Worrill Melton; who has preceded her in death. Mrs. Melton worked as a clerk typist with the Clerk of Superior Court in Decatur County for many years and, later, as a secretary at First State National Bank. Frances enjoyed sewing and reading. She was a supporter of animal conservation, including the Human Society and National Geographic. Frances Melton is survived by her sister, Evelyn Burns of Bainbridge, Georgia; niece, Cheryl Peterman and her sons, James Patrick Palmer (wife, Michelle) of Newnan, Georgia, Kenneth B. Palmer (wife, Kim) of Ft. Valley, Georgia,Chris T. Palmer (wife, Kim) of Cummings, Georgia, and Burt Palmer (wife, Marlene) of Dacula, Georgia; and numerous great-nephews.
