Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Louise Kain Worthington, age 84 of Bainbridge, GA, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stanley Phillips officiating. A private burial will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Robert Archer, Bradley Henry, Mark Harrell, Billy Barber and John Cook serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Worthington was born January 10, 1925 in Decatur County, GA to the now late Dewitt and Trudy Shirah Kain. She lived all of her life in Decatur County and was a homemaker. She married Willie B. Worthington April 29, 1942. Mrs. Worthington was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church which she loved dearly and where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was very active with the Gray Ladies at the Old Fidelas Nursing Home and Bainbridge High School, and loved fishing, cooking, crocheting, canasta, and needle work. Mrs. Worthington passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willie B. Worthington; one daughter; Beverly Worthington-Archer and husband Robert of Nova, OH; one sister; Lorraine Cook of Cartersville, GA; four grandchildren; Bradley (Wife Sarah) Henry, Karla Morgan, Lauren (Husband Mayor Mark) Harrell, and Justin Archer; and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Worthington was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Dewitt Worthington, sister, Virginia Hartley, and one brother, W.L. Kain.
