Dr. Fred N. Henderson, 72, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA. The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen L. Webb, Dr. Barbara Frieling, and Rev. Robert Thomason officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at First United Methodist Church. He was a charter faculty member of Bainbridge College where he served from 1973 to 1991. He was Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Dean of the Faculty Emeritus, and Professor of English Emeritus. He received his A.A. degree from Oxford College, B.A. and M.A. from Emory University, and Ed. D. from Nova University. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a retired Lt. Colonel in the Georgia Air National Guard, having served from 1959 to 1984. He was a member of the Bainbridge Rotary Club and the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Henderson. Survivors include his wife, Martha Rogers Henderson of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Kathryn H. Dumper of Douglasville, GA; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Dumper, Sydney Dumper, and Griffin Dumper, all of Douglasville, GA; and 1 furry friend, Kasy G.
