Funeral Services for Mr. Fred Koler, 87, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gerald Little officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with T. J. Lambert, Hardy Dollar, Ken Adams, David Cottles, Mike Barber and David Green serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home. Mr. Koler was born in Baltimore, Maryland November 16, 1922 to the now late John and Stephanis Koler. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving as a seaman from 1944 - 1946 and as an Airman in the Navy Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post 62 and the Elks Club. Mr. Koler worked with Pantry Pride foods for 28 years and was a warehouse manager and buyer for Stanley Institutional Foods for 12 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Koler has lived in Decatur County for the past twenty years and passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819. Mr. Koler is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dasie (Dee) Carpenter Koler of Bainbridge, GA, one son, Russell E. Smedley Jr. and wife Connie of Daleville, AL; one daughter, Linda Harrison and husband Keith of Climax, GA; five grandchildren, Russell E. Smedley III, Rachelle Ford, Tiffany Lukas, Christy H. Marsh, and Kenneth John Smedley; and eight great grandchildren.
