Freddie Welch

Freddie Earl Welch, age 76, of Boston, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023. The family held a private funeral service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Freddie was born December 12, 1946 in Blakely, Georgia the son of Lannie Oakley Welch and Eunice Earl Welch. He was a homebody. He loved his chihuahua, Trish, who passed before him. Freddie was an avid hunter and fisher. His home and outdoors were his escape from politics. Survivors include his son, Michael Shannon Welch (Tanya) of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Shannon Welch, Ethan Stephens, Michael Welch, Jr., and Joanna Welch; siblings, Gary Welch (Diana), Debbie Cloud, Ronnie Welch (Jennifer), and Eddie Welch; in-laws, Sue Welch and Roy Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, J.D. Welch, Homer Welch, Odell Welch, Merle Hodges, Betty Hodges, Dean Evans, and Sandy Gipson.
